Absence in Egypt

There is something about the desert that is appealing. The dry heat and the intensity can be so foreign to many of us living in the world. From an aesthetic viewpoint the monochromatic and minimalist nature of it can be striking, but its also the absence of anything that creates an interest. These photos of Chris Sissarich capture this absence brilliantly. Where are these people walking, what are they doing? There is a mystery there which is really nice.

Check out the rest of Chris' work here. He has a great range of landscape work but his advertising material is worth looking at too.
