MERCATO COMUNALE is situated at an important junction of the city, where lots of people cross by without noticing the market with an unrecognizable entrance and lack of attraction. The existing building is dying with an abandon of design with both exterior and interior. Therefore, the goal is to make this market to be the new community destination of Milano just like a NEW SHOPPING STOP/STATION that before people pass by they have to come inside or just stop by and recognize the newly designed building. In order to achieve the goal, I designed an open market inspired by the train station. Also, the interior layout had been redesigned using the idea of shopping units as tram stops as well as using urban and street aspect into the design.
