'Outrageous Fortune — The Exhibition' was an exhibition at Auckland Museum about NZ’s most popular TV series. For the exhibition graphics, we had to take an iconic identity and transform it into something new. The extraction of the ‘lightning bolt’ referenced the dynamism of the opening titles and became a functional element that aided navigation. We chose bold colour combinations to separate sections within the exhibition. Typography was used to create a distinction between different 'voices': Black Oak for the exhibition identity, Typewriter Serial (OF identity) for the ‘cast and crew voice’, and Gotham Narrow (Auckland Museum identity) for both the ‘museum voice’ and to connect the external marketing identity with the internal exhibition graphics. Text was cropped and angled to create an appropriately bold tension.
