The author

As a graphic designer and illustrator, I advocate for justice and equitable opportunity. I’m an evocative story teller and ‘big picture’ thinker without sacrificing attention to detail, and in turn create impactful branding solutions that empower and mobilise change.

My personal style is minimalistic with a bold touch, keeping designs uncluttered while retaining a striking focal point.

Overview

A man reflects on his relationship with his father and how its implications have changed as he himself navigates through fatherhood.

I decided to take a more conceptual approach to "capturing something from a new perspective". With the purpose of documenting an authentic human experience, I sought to portray the various nuances of inter-generational racial trauma and how perspectives of that trauma shift and unfold through time. It was a new experience on my worldview as well, as I had never seen the subject, my own father, in this state of vulnerability.

The three images are intended to be viewed as a series or anthology, rather than three separate entries.
