'Bottled up' is an installation artwork which comments on the pollution of our water systems causing wider degradation to our shared ecology. Water is our most valuable resource, yet it has been neglected and left to deteriorate. Until we take note of water pollution, humanity will remain in a state of ignorance, selfishness and continue in indulgence, despite the fact that many around the world are already suffering the consequences.
'Bottled Up' exposes the dirty truth of consumerist ideals in the phenomena of commercial packaging. By creating my own brand; each bottle label explores different aspects of the endangerment of our water environment. These six aspects are global warming, marine species, human health risks, single use plastics, wildlife and industrial waste waters.
Inspired by the design of water bottles labels and the potential of visual identity to create a lasting impression, the idea that consumers are marketed the origins and nutritional value of water.
