Ceaseless Glass Ceiling is a rejection of the barrier which ultimately stifles female success in the workforce. I shatter this 'glass' through the physical manipulation of metal, employing the traditionally masculine technique of welding.
The focus of my artwork is primarily conceptual, achieved through the fusion of simple lines and shapes created using complex techniques. The nude female figures at the bottom of the artwork represent women who are undervalued, seen for their physical attributes rather than intellectual. Juxtaposing this is the preoccupied male personages, dressed in 'power suits', who pay no attention to the female figures below them.
The foam-core board which forms the two-dimensional background is covered with figures composed of simple white lines, mimicking the characters in the foreground. However, amongst the chaos of suited men, stands one woman attired in a power suit and heels, to constitute the inadequate number of women in positions of power.
