Overview

For over 400 million years, spiders have been wandering around all continents and spreading in all of Earth's environments. Even though they look alike, there are thousands of different spider species that vary in size, shape & behavior.
But there is one very special characteristic that spiders share and it is their ability to produce silk and in turn create spider webs, one of the most meticulous and impressive animal made "art".
The 2014 Christmas window was inspired by these magical creatures (spiders) and so the installation was created from tens of crochet pieces handmade with one single thread reminding us of the spider's web technique using a single silk thread produced by the creature itself.
Stars and Christmas flowers were crafted inside the crochet pieces, dyed into a palette of greens & reds to reflect the holiday's spirit.
The crochets were then hand-beaded with hundreds of shiny little beads reminding us of the shimmer in the diamonds & precious stones of the fine jewels.
