This series was an exploration of mixed media with a message of creative emergence. In the first piece, Emergence, a woman appears from a geometric mass. This mass, depicted in black ink detailing, represents society - the most geometric shapes symbolise the rigidity and structure of society that can dampen creative and individual thinking. The transition into more fluid shapes with the black ink represent the transformable and adaptive thinking that emerges once one decides to think and do beyond our societal pressures. The second piece, Doves and Smoke, has similar connotations of emergence. It is a reminder that amongst turmoil (smoke), peace (doves) can exist and learn to thrive.
