I have created a music video to ‘Electricity’ by Dua Lipa featuring Mark Ronson and Diplo that follows a girl on her journey to self-acceptance/love after being dumped by an unworthy lover. This is symbolised by a power she is given and discovers within herself, similar to a soul-searching venture after a traumatic experience. I wanted to create a fun, light hearted music video with a stylistic theme that paid homage to the 80’s through psychedelic and neon effects. However, I also wanted it to have a deeper, more abstract meaning of empowerment and love that all age demographics could relate too, enjoy and interpret for themselves. I wanted to communicate to a wide audience that you do not need the validation or love from others to prove your worthiness and that everyone has the power within them (metaphorically and literally) to shape the course of their life and wellbeing. I created this video with the Adobe Suite and Blendr to create 2D and 3D animation and various special effects.
