This picture collage is a part of upholstery collection which I designed at my last job in India. The inspiration of this collection was derived from “Paisley”, “Chevron” and “Jacquard”. My grandmother used to wear a rich paisley shawl and the pattern truly caught my eye and attention. Paisley’s journey, over the course of thousands of years, is very inspirational to me. I love symbols that are rich in history. What I love about it is also that it has a deep meaning: it symbolises the tree of life, the seed palm, thus fertility, it always remains appealing, exotic and cool at the same time. The technique used in designing these fabrics was embroidery. The fabric used are Silk, Cotton and Jute.
