‘Majaja’ was my graduate project, and it took about six months to produce. As a team of four collaborating on projects, we call ourselves ‘Animation Special Forces’. We sought the challenge of tacking traditional frame by frame animation, without the use of any language; only vocal expression and music composed by ourselves.
I was the team leader during the project, predominantly in charge of water color and visual effects. I think the most challenging part was being the team leader; when compared with the emotional issues we encountered, the technical problems were much easier to resolve. My solution was to always listen to my members and use my patience to take care of any emotional problems. Eventually, we created a seven-minute-long animation and a friendship which will last forever.
