These are the steps to make my first mini Mannequin.using patterns, a heavy non-stretch fabric, cut out the pattern pieces as you can see in the photo attached and stuffing with wadding and sewing the final base with a whole underneath to have a base, using wooden Kitchen paper roll.
My first draping on the mini mannequin was with the basic dress pattern block.
That was helping me to understand the shapes and flat pattern manipulation and working with paper patterns to create new shapes.
Draping is another process of positioning and pinning to a mannequin to develop ideas.working with fabrics on the stand takes ideas instantly into a 3dimensional extent from the start,
and helps to encourage the creative process and playing with the way fabric folds and hangs on the body helps to create new designs .the possibilities using this technique are endless. This project gave me a knowledge of two different techniques to achieve the same result of garment creation.
