The author

Creative mind, Interior designer, bargain hunter, DIY enthusiast, renovator, mother of two and dam good cook. Hey i'm Danni and these some of my passions and best words I could think of to describe myself !

Ive never been good at maths but give me a budget and a space and ill fill it with purpose, passion, functionality and make it inspire you to want to stay and bask in its beauty. I learnt a lot of my DIY skills from my time working at Bunnings as a Kitchen designer and became familiar on how to create visually pleasing spaces that don't have to cost you a limb on the black market. Ive also had the pleasure of renovating 2 properties of my own which taught me a lot about the wonderful world of renovating.

As a mother of two adventurous girls my main focus has been on their upbringing with a play based environment and just having fun. Now they are a little older and more independent it is my time to focus on returning to study Interior Design and Decoration at Billy Blue.

Overview

A tiny 3x3 metre single bedroom will be turned into a multi purpose recreation/library.

Given the rooms intention and current furniture, natural reed green hues, timbers, cane accessories and hardy indoor plants were suggested to breathe life and fresh air into space. To create comfort a durable sisal nylon carpet replaced cheap laminate flooring. Built in wardrobe was placed strategically behind door and mirror doors selected to create an illusion of space and depth in room. Book cases adorned each side of window with a buffet 300mm deep table between for occasional printing and laptop work. 300mm deep oak look laminate shelves assisted with the additional books for library collection. The room came together with natural leather cushion and a floor hide. Pendant was sprayed black from its original teal colour. The room came together with the pendant and floor lamp creating a dramatic, warm and richness mood with gorgeous patterned light spilling through beads on to the ceiling.
