Overview

My aim was to create an heirloom workbench that I could use for many decades, look back on and still be very proud of when i pass it on. The workbench was inspired by the traditional French 18th century Roubo design for its aesthetic appeal that does not detract from its functionality and durability. Through many hours of research and design modifications, the bench became more of a hybrid design through inclusion of a flip bench divider and modern Benchcrafted vice hardware, yet still keeping the traditional leg vice and sliding deadman design. It is constructed from Australian blackbutt and jarrah for their strength and density properties, and the attractiveness of the natural Australian hardwoods complete the overall aesthetics of the bench.
