This piece was the first project I created the idea for, and then went on to sew myself. I took inspiration from other brands such as ASOS and Misguided that had created bold set pieces. Set pieces most commonly involve a skirt and top, or shorts and top combination. However, as this piece was created specifically to be worn at Splendour in the Grass, I wanted to provide extra warmth, hence fashioning the bottoms into long pants. Completely by chance I stumbled across the fabric. It was originally a bedsheet. I used it because I felt that all together it created a scene, rather than just two pieces of clothing made out of the same, bold fabric. The pants were created by slightly altering some embellishments, such as the top and drawstring, of a pants pattern. The top was created by analysing a top I already owned and following the procedure of how it was made.
