My dice design explores the art of typography through illustrating type terms on each of its faces. The concept behind this design was making the often confusing typography terms more accessible to the type novice. The purpose of my design is to educate the audience on type terminology in an attractive and engaging way, as opposed to have them illustrated in a textbook or blog post. It materialises and provides examples of the creative ways in which type can be utilised in design, and opens up the mind of its student audience about the possibilities and design opportunities that type can provide when manipulated using both vector and raster based programs. I used Illustrator to construct my dice net, in which I created the layout for the dice, and Photoshop to create an interactive 3D model as a COLLADA file, and then took a screen recording of a user interacting digitally and moving around the dice, to create an effective mockup which displays my work in video form.
